About Us

RES New Zealand was incorporated in 2006 with the aim of assessing wind energy opportunities in the New Zealand market. The initial focus is on the Puketiro wind farm, a prospective project near Wellington. This site is on land owned by Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) and, potentially, adjacent private landowners. RES is independent of GWRC. Its relationship is governed by an agreement requiring RES to take steps to develop a wind farm on GWRC land.
